About workshop:

Human movement measurement provides objective information about pathological conditions such as movement disorders and thus is widely applied for clinical evaluations. Despite the accuracy of gait laboratory equipment, it is not available to a majority of clinical settings due to requirement for a dedicated facility and technical staff. Wearable technologies have the potential to provide a low-cost, user-friendly alternative to gait laboratory. Yet, still nine out of ten commercialized wearables are smartwatches, used for entertainment applications, which indicates a gap between commercialized wearables and approved biomedical devices. This gap is due to a lack in validation of the commercialized wearables for their accuracy, reliability, and clinical relevance for medical decision making. As a consequence, they are hardly ever used for diagnosis or treatment. This workshop will introduce a systematic approach to the development of wearable biomedical devices specifically for technology transfer in clinical applications. Examples of the developed wearable technologies, their validation against in-lab equipment, and their suitability for clinical evaluation will be discussed

 Implementation & Control of Robotic Manipulators & Humanoids

What we will explore in this workshop:

In this workshop we will talk about hardware and software based scientific tools in robotics engineering and all related researches.  We will have introduction about manipulators, types, applications and history of using them in industry. In the next step we will introduce a research and semi-industrial platform, ROBOTIS OpenManipulator-X and its technical specifications & components.

In the following we will try to introduce and solve Kinematic and Dynamic equations of manipulators and implement, modeling, simulating, investigate more deeply on OpenManipulator-X using MATLAB

ON the technical side, We will talk about one of the leading-edge and best robotics frameworks, Robot Operating System (ROS) and after getting acquainted with its structure, history, applications, We will try to operate, control and monitor OpenManipulator-X robot with “ROS” and “MoveIt!” toolsets.

To complete the discussions, we will also talk about the official ROS development platform and its specifications and ROS applications in humanoid robotics will be interesting opening topic to our next discuss.

Understanding the types of humanoid robots from mechanics to electronics, control and software will be our last mission in this workshop & we will talk about this type of robot’s kinematic equations and available platforms and possibilities of making them thanks to Dynamixel intelligent servo motors!

This workshop will be presented and taught by 3 Pishrobot’s technical experts, they will discuss about scientific, technical and practical aspects of Robotic manipulators, robotic operating system and humanoid robots for academic students or everyone who love robots! In This event, all of students can understand available options to making robots more technically alongside scientific considerations.
